Block the heat but keep the view.
Solar screens or roller shades offers substantial shading while allowing excellent outward
visibility and improved day time privacy.
The mesh fabric made of vinyl- coated fiberglass yarns diffuse light, reduce glare and help
control solar heat gain to make any room a more comfortable environment.
Wizard Roll Screens are mounted on the outside and are operated simply from either inside or
outside by tape, gear or electric motor which conveniently retracts the screen into a sleek white
cassette box. The Wizard system has a 4″ cassette box that is white polyester powder coated that
the fabric rolls into. This unit can accommodate windows from 3′ to 8′ high and 3′ to 10′ wide.
The bottom rail travels in the standard 40 mm (1 3/8″)side rails or optional 70mm(2 3/4). The
standard operation is tape or cord from the outside.
The Grand Wizard system has a 5″ cassette to hold enough fabric to cover a window 13′ high by
13′ wide. The standard operation of the these units is an outside gear, optional inside controls or
motorization is always available.
There are two indicators that can be used for evaluation purposes:
Openness factor and shading coefficient. The openness factor expresses the percentage of
shading area that is open versus coverage by the fabric material. The smaller the openness factor,
the more effective the screen material will block heat and glare. The larger the openness factor,
the brighter and more unobstructed the view to the outside becomes. The shading coefficient is a
combined value of all thermal properties of the screen material such as solar absorbtion,
transmission, reflection, openness factors, etc. The lower the coefficient, the better the heat
protection. Dark colors are far more effective than white ones in exterior applications as they
absorb more heat.
As an added benefit, screen perforations allow fresh air to flow indoors.
